Who is the community’s developer and operator?
The developer and operator of Seasons at Apple Valley is Ecumen, one of the largest non-profit providers of older adult services in the nation. Based in Shoreview, Minnesota, Ecumen owns and/or operates a broad spectrum of more than 75 senior housing communities, primarily in Minnesota, but in Idaho, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, Tennessee and Wisconsin as well. Ecumen empowers its residents to live richer, fuller lives.
Do I sign a lease?
Yes, at Ecumen Seasons at Apple Valley, there is a month-to-month lease.
What is included in the monthly service fees for the 106 Independent Living apartment homes?
The monthly service fee includes: electricity; water; heat; air conditioning; garbage removal; basic satellite television service; Wi-Fi; weekly light housekeeping; scheduled transportation services; programmed social, recreational and fitness activities, 24-hour emergency call service; 24-hour staffing; daily concierge services; and use of all community common areas.
What is not included in the monthly service fee for an independent living apartment home?
Telephone service, premium television subscription fees, underground parking, home health care services, additional meals, and salon services are not included in the monthly service fee.
Is there a community fee?
A $2,000 non-refundable community fee is due upon move-in for the upkeep of living spaces and grounds.
Is there a second-occupant fee?
Second Occupant fee ranges from $150-$300/month plus optional meal plan and health care services.
Where do I park my vehicle?
Underground parking is available for an additional $65 per month per vehicle.
Is there additional storage available for anything I can’t store in my residence?
Yes, secure storage units are available on each floor of apartment homes for an additional fee of $35 per month per storage unit.
What if I decide to move?
If you decide to move, simply give us a 30-day (full calendar month) written notice of your intent to vacate your apartment home.

Ecumen reviews its budgets annually. Over the course of our 150+-year history, we have typically experienced an annual rent increase of roughly 3%. But please know that Ecumen is a non-profit organization: any rent increase is strictly related to an increase in the cost of living—not to pay dividends to shareholders, as is often the case with for-profit communities
What are the personalized home care services available to independent living residents?
The variety of personalized home care service packages we offer are designed to promote independence and keep pace with any changing needs of residents. For those needing a little extra help with the tasks of daily living—now or in the future—we bring the appropriate level of care to you in your apartment home. There is no requirement to move to another apartment home; simply continue to enjoy the comforts of your home and add the services you desire, à la carte and month by month.
What are some examples of the tailored services you provide?
We offer a full range of personal health care services as customized, monthly home health service packages, including: bathing assistance; dressing and grooming; escort service; medication management; and much more. Please ask us for complete package information and monthly pricing.
Is there a washer and dryer in each apartment home?
Each independent living apartment home has its own washer and dryer. Residents of our Memory Care neighborhood receive laundry services as part of their monthly service fee.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome at Ecumen Seasons. Your pet must be able to abide by the community’s guidelines. A one-time $800 non-refundable fee is required.
Do you have a Guest Suite?
Yes, we have one furnished guest suite available to your overnight visitors for $80 per night.
Is smoking permitted?
No, Ecumen Seasons at Apple Valley is a smoke-free community.
Is there a charge for using the community spaces?
No, there is never a charge for using our community spaces! In fact, we want you to consider them as extensions of your home! Feel free to reserve our private dining area, movie theater, learning center, or other spaces when hosting family or friends!
